How do I get started?

What makes you different from other tours?

Unlike other tours which cram a myriad of activities into a short amount of time, rushing through experiences and leaving little room for flexibility, we offer a vacation experience catered specifically to doll and toy lovers. Rather than diluting your time by we’ve narrowed the focus to provide a boutique and niche experience centered on what what matters most to you.

If you have other interests you’d like to indulge, we can help with that too! Ask us about add on trip planning services if you wish to extend your stay past the Doll Tour to experience more of what Japan has to offer.

I have dietary restrictions, is that an issue in Japan?

There is a growing move towards allergy and food sensitivity awareness in Japanese restaurants. More and more gluten free options are popping up all over, and many restaurants mark which options are vegetarian or vegan.

As travelers with food allergies ourselves, we know how important it is to stay safe when dining on vacation. That’s why we carefully research and select restaurants ahead of time which you can feel secure dining at.

I have mobility aids or limitations, how accessible is Japan for me?

In general, Japan is a very accessible country when compared with many cities in the USA. In major cities like Tokyo, the sidewalks are flat, wide, and well maintained, with curb cuts on every corner. Nearly all train and subway stations have an elevator, as do most multi story buildings over 4 stories, though some smaller and older buildings may only have a tiny elevator.

If you have specific concerns or needs, please feel free to reach out to us directly! We want to set you up for success on your trip. To that end, we have researched the accessibility of each stop on our tour, and will communicate with you directly to make sure you’re able to access your trip.

Is it OK if I've never traveled internationally before?

Yes! You will need a passport that is valid for the duration of your stay.

Do I need to speak Japanese?

Nope! Many shops and restaurants have staff who speak at least a little English, and all public transit has signage in both Japanese and English. Although learning even a little Japanese can go a long way when it comes to politeness and respect.

Can my partner/friend/parent travel with me?

Yes! However since we handle all flights and reservations, they will also have to register and pay as a full tour participant in order to accompany you.
